Reptilesncritters Reviews

Fashion reading en masse.

In recent weeks I have bought some books and DVDs on the topic of "Fashion". Therefore here is now a somewhat bigger post with my reviews, voila.

Fashion Shows Fall Winter 2010/2011
This 4-DVD box set contains the most important trends, designers and collections of the Autumn Winter Collection 2010/2011 (ie the shows from a year ago). Each DVD offers a brief overview of each fashion weeks in New York, Paris, London and Milan. Interviews with bloggers like Bryan Boy and Tommy make the whole thing sound even more interesting.
So who is for something can inspire: Access! (On 24 February, the box spring summer 2011 will be published.)

The September Issue
aka "the Anna Wintour movie" "The September issue" probably one of the most discussed most films of 2009. Everyone wanted to know Mrs. Wintour really so how 'they' "The Devil Wears Prada" in illustrating? My opinion: No! Of course you notice it in their power capacity, but it is, after all, the boss of the most influential fashion magazine around the world. Sometimes they must make hard decisions, but it does so with an amiable nature that has nothing whatsoever to do with Meryl Streep. This film simply offers a insight into the complex task of Septèmes issue and it's a fun Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington a little bit to look over your shoulder.
If there is anyone who has not seen the movie: Watch!

Picture Me - Diary of top models
"Picture Me" is a documentary about the top model Sara Ziff and Model-life in general. Their friend and cameraman Ole Schell has over the years to take a picture of her and her fellow women, who have been brought into this little movie. In part it is very intimate and you have the feeling to sit next to her, for Sara and her friends tell very personal, sometimes incredible things and talk about 12-year-old model, Size 0, and their own old age problems.
Highly Recommended!

fashion series - On the Road with Les Mads
Meanwhile, there is probably no one who has not heard of the book Les Mads and yes, it is to say as good as any.
This book provides a wonderful insight into the small world that have built up Julia and Jessie. In short chapters, write the two alternately about their great experiences and give tips for online shopping, what to do with bad purchases or insider tips cities of New York, London, Berlin and and and. I finally finished it yesterday managed to read and am still very fond of stories like "How I told my 83-year-old grandmother blogging" and the sweet presentation of the book.
So, to all who deal with fashion blogs and the Les Mads follow anyway (if not, then now!): Buy buy buy,,!

The Sartorialist - Scott Schuman The Sartorialist
is probably one of the most famous street style blogs around the world, and rightly so. Scott Schuman sees things that others do not stand out and catches them in wonderful snapshots. This little book contains 500 pages of street style images that one could have foreseen already on his blog. The special thing about the book for me Scott's comments to some pictures: As he tells what he thought of this picture, where he met the people what they have just done and how different the opinions of its readers were.
Anyone interested in Street Styles and the like, which I can put the book only recommend highly.

Front Row by Jerry Oppenheimer
After seeing "The September Issue," I wanted to also read the book about Mrs. Wintour, the still time to provide a better insight into the world of the chief of American Vogue. Unfortunately, I did not come to read, because the book has consistently positive reviews, I say simply times that is worth reading.
